Roman “Robar” Barbun is an independent musician based in Melbourne, Australia. He began his musical journey roughly 10 years ago without any idea that this will become the most important activity in his life.
Being born and raised in Ukraine, Roman started out as member of different local groups but his ambitions are always a few steps ahead of where he is. Very soon his talent was noticed by a few touring bands with whom he extensively toured Europe. After several years of being a session musician Roman decided to concentrate on his own musical projects.
This is when he began to upload his first videos to YouTube: the feedback was beyond any expectations. He quickly realised the growing role of internet in music industry which opens a new door for young and enthusiastic artists. Being a completely self-instructed guitarist, Roman has built a significant reputation under nickname “Robar” by posting covers, lessons and his original compositions. His original work has subsequently been transformed into the project called ROBAR.
Roman's concept behind ROBAR is to invite various musicians to collaborate. So far he has worked with such notable musicians as Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, One-Way Mirror, Scarve, Devin Townsend etc.), Guillaume Bideau (Mnemic, One-Way Mirror), Travis Orbin (Darkest Hour, Sky Eats Airplane, ex-Periphery), Dylan Taylor (Black Light Burns) and more.

Besides ROBAR, Roman is also involved in different international projects with musicians from all over the world. His eager aspiration for success doesn’t stop for a second.
