Folk Blues Other

Melbourne, Australia

Andy was never satisfied with just playing chords. He found the guitar an instrument of unrefined beauty, intrigued by the technicality of finger picking guitarists. So it was this oft forgotten art form that Andy set about honing, creating music that incorporated his guitar as an identity.
After several years of classical tuition it wasn’t until hearing the likes of aussie roots heroes Jeff Lang and John Butler that Andy truly identified with the guitar. A love for the blues was instilled by artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters and Mississippi John Hurt. But he won’t be pigeonholed into just being a blues musician! Often incorporating folk, rock and even hip hop into his music.

Andy doesn’t just rely on his guitar to do all the talking for his music. With a naturally high register, Andy's sound is soothing and also emotional but ranges to daring and heart wrenching screams.
Often he will utilise a soft choir-like blissful whisper to obsessed scream, sometimes within the same song to keep his audience compelled for a jam packed one man show.
